Kafka Krisis.
I was sitting in my 10am lecture yesterday morning, not paying all that much attention, as we were discussing Kafka (of whom I'm not enamored). I thought it was going to be a thoroughly boring way to spend 50 minutes, then my interesting friend Miss C.d.C. walked in with a random Frenchman in tow.
She leaned over to me and whispered rather loudly: "Do i smell like whiskey?" I duly sniffed and replied she did. She giggled and introduced me to Mr L. All of this while we sat in the front row of the classroom.
Naughty Miss C.d.C. and bad influence Mr L. had started drinking at 8am, and continued to drink 'surreptitiously' throughout the lecture, providing me with much amusement, and the lecturer annoyance.
I can honestly say I've never been drunk quite so early in the day; a remedy is in order perhaps?

Procrastination Queen
I am listening to Fidelio. I so want to sing 'Abscheulicher, wo eilst du hin?' but that probably won't happen for a few years! In the meantime i think i may have to content myself with 'O wär ich schon mit dir vereint.' Arias excite me so much. There are about 5 Mozart arias from everything from Cosi to La finta giardiniera that i want to tackle... the problem is finding the time! It's sort of sick in a way but i really am madly and passionately in love with opera and everything about it.
And speaking of opera: just over a week until Falstaff opens. Is anyone else excited?! :D
I am procrastinating. I am supposed to be writing an essay on the portrayl of love, marriage and adultery in von Strassburg's Tristan. I do love reading about these things, i just wish i didnt have to write essays on them. Especially now when i'm so terribly ancient, and incredibly over essay writing. I'd rather be working on a dissertation.

Utter Utter Chaos
I want to be writing interesting and witty observations on daily life, but at the moment i don't seem to have one. Falstaff is enormous fun, though a huge time investment, especially when i have 2 other jobs to contend with, as well as being a full time student - not to mention trying to find time to do my own repertoire (which SOO isn't happening at the moment!).
Current blog expectation and excitement level: low.
